Summary

The squad you love is out of time。 Prepare for the thrilling finale in the epic, best-selling Aurora Cycle series about a band of unlikely heroes who just might be the galaxy's last hope for survival。

Is this the end?

What happens when you ask a bunch of losers, discipline cases, and misfits to save the galaxy from an ancient evil? The ancient evil wins, of course。
Wait。 。 。 。 Not。 So。 Fast。
When we last saw Squad 312, they working together seamlessly (aka, freaking out) as an intergalactic battle raged and an ancient superweapon threatened to obliterate Earth。 Everything went horribly wrong, naturally。
But as it turns out, not all endings are endings, and the te4am has one last chance to rewrite thirs。 Maybe two。 It's complicated。
Cue Zila, Fin, and Scarlett (and MAGELLAN!): making friends, making enemies, and making history? Sure, no problem
Cue Tyler, Kal, and Auri: uniting with two of the galaxy’s most hated villains? Um, okay。 That, too。
Actually saving the galaxy, though?
Now that will take a miracle。

This is a trilogy and this is last book in the series。 Aurora’s End picks up just straight after what happened at the end of Aurora Burning which left us on a cliffhanger。 The last we seen of Squad 312, was they were trying to save Earth from impending doom while an intergalactic battle raged on。 Of course things went wrong but Squad 312 might have another chance to save the galaxy in this book。 I loved this book and this series。 I am kinda sad the series is coming to end as I will miss Squad 31 This is a trilogy and this is last book in the series。 Aurora’s End picks up just straight after what happened at the end of Aurora Burning which left us on a cliffhanger。 The last we seen of Squad 312, was they were trying to save Earth from impending doom while an intergalactic battle raged on。 Of course things went wrong but Squad 312 might have another chance to save the galaxy in this book。 I loved this book and this series。 I am kinda sad the series is coming to end as I will miss Squad 312。 Without trying to spoil this book too much Squad 312 find themselves in various situtations in this book。 Zila, Fin and Scarlett and Magellan find themselves stuck repeating time which was so much fun to read and Tyler, Kal and Auri find themselves teaming up with two villains。 This book is action packed and sad at times but as the previous two books it isn't without the humour and warm that makes Squad 312 so likeable as a group and indivduals。 Romance does bloom in this book and I did have two favourites but I won't say in case it is a spoiler for future readers。 Lots of loose ends and questions are tied up in this book。 So you won't be left with any unexplained questions。 The end is heartwarming and maybe too perfect but lets face Squad 312 deserve a bit of happiness and peace。 Highly entertaining and fun series and final book fitting to end a series。 One last point I have loved the covers of the books。 They stand out and are very striking。 I received ARC from Netgalley and Oneworld Publications, Rock the Boat for an objection review。 。。。more

Let's talk about the characters first。AuroraI felt like she was so weird in this book and I understand that it was because of the power within her, but she made some crazy decisions, she was acting very strange and I just didn't like her character that much in this book。 She could've been so, so much better, she had a lot of potential that wasn't used。KalAfter Aurora Burning, my heart was broken for him。 This guy deserved so much more and he did get some of that in Aurora's End, but not enough。 I would've loved to see him make up with his sister, but eh。。。ZilaI love her with all my heart。 she saved the book, because her sacrifice was literally my favourite thing in this book, one that I felt like it was worthy of the finale of a series。 She is so amazing and I wish we knew more about her life with Nari, I need a short story or novella or something about them。TylerI didn't expect him to be the person he was in this book and I LOVED his new self。 And I was rooting for him and Saedii, so I'm glad they made the big step, because they're really great together。ScarlettI love her growth so much。 She overcame so many of her fears in order to save the ones she loved, she became such a beautiful person and I'm so happy that she finally got what she deserves。FinianHe's enough and he has always been enough and I love him so, so much。 He has come so far and I'm so happy that he and Scarlett found each other。 I mean it was very predictable, but I love them together。 They deserve each other。The plot? Well, the plot was definitely not what I was expecting。 I really enjoyed the whole time travelling stuff, even though my mind went a little crazy while trying to piece everything together。 It was challenging and I enjoyed it, coming from a sci-fi book。 But as I said in the beginning, this book was too soft。 I was expecting a huge fight with the Ra'haam, not what happened with Aurora and her choices。 I just didn't feel like it was such a great ending to this series, it was just cute, but not exciting。 All in all, I liked the book。 I even loved some part of it, but not the book as a whole。 It could've been much better in my opinion, but this is all we get。 。。。more

It’s about time— literally AND figuratively 😉Aurora’s End made me laugh, made me cry—A LOT, made my heartbreak, and made my anxiety go through the roof, but it was so worth it。 It’s also the saddest but most beautiful of happy endings, and the most perfect goodbye to this series & these characters。& now I don’t know what to do with myself。

Or Star Trek? Pretty much any of the Treks。 They all had time loops in them。 Did Andromeda? Probably。 It’s a while since I watched Andromeda。 Aurora and her space elf squeeze and his dad are in the future, riding the ship with the big glowing weapon made by Mass Effect’s Precursors。 It’s a future where the moldy Borg Collective won and civilisation is hanging on by its fingernails。 Running from last stand to last stand, putting off the inevitable total defeat and consumption into the compost friendly Borg。 Did you ever watch that X Men film? Days Of Future Past I think it was。 Well it’s that。 What’s Tyler up to? Shagging another space elf, mostly, because this is an Aurora book, and someone is always being horny in an Aurora book, usually in a wildly inappropriate circumstance。 While he’s not shagging he’s trying to stop Aurora Academy getting blown up。 Uniting the free races of the galaxy to go and blow up a Borg planet。 Watching the free races of the galaxy fail at blowing up a Borg planet。 The problem with books with multiple threads like this is that more often than not one of them becomes your favourite and the others feel like a slog。 Well none of these felt like my favourite, and they all felt like a slog。 At the end of almost every chapter I put my phone back down and did something else for ten minutes before I could psyche myself up to read some more, because it was just a chore。 I didn’t like being in the characters’ heads because their narration was annoying and vapid, and as a Sci Fi nerd I’d seen it all before and done more competently。 That’s what this review boils down to。 I didn’t like the characters, and what they were doing was a GCSE drama class’s reenactment of a Stargate SG1 episode。 I finished the book to write this review, and it was a waste of time because I don’t feel enough about the book to write a good review。 I mean, I’ve managed to spend almost six hundred words saying I feel nothing for this book, which I suppose is an achievement, but not one of note。 A lot like Aurora Burning itself。 Two stars。 Don’t bother。 。。。more

I know from the Aussie launch that this wasn't the ending sequence they initially planned, so I wonder what that ending was! This ending was satisfactory。 My least favourite of the three books。 I felt pretty confused at times and had to re-read parts, but that was to be expected with hard sci-fi like this, I'm not used to it。 I loved seeing all of the characters and reading new things from them :D It didn't break my heart or even make me well up like the previous two :( But the beginning of this I know from the Aussie launch that this wasn't the ending sequence they initially planned, so I wonder what that ending was! 4。5!!Wowowowowow。 I didn’t know what to expect going into this because I wasn’t the huuuuugest fan of the second book (loved the first one) but this COMPLETELY redeemed the series for me。 It’s definitely my favourite in the series! In Aurora’s End, our crew is split up into 3 groups separated literally by time and space and while you’re reading it you’re thinking how the HELL are they going to pull this off? I adored the characters too and found them way less cringey than in the second book (lol) and one particular romance had me like HNNNNNG I love a good enemies to lovers am I right, folks? Okay I am just spouting nonsense at this point but listen if you were on the fence about continuing this series after the previous book, I’m here to let you know that it’s SO worth it (even though I’m a feeling a little mixed on the ending), I really really enjoyed reading this one! Thanks Allen and Unwin for the review copy! 。。。more

Ok so at first the Finian, Scarlet and Zila POVs got super annoying real quick buuuuuut they were completely necessary in the way they were written and I respect that。 I had to watch Edge of Tomorrow just to get it out of my system with the time loops。Tyler’s POV is always my favorite to read。 Zila that crafty brain!!So many happy/sad moments towards the end!I was wondering how it would end: who would make it? How would the events unfold? What would happen next? So many emotions。 I’m overall pleased with each character’s ending and was very entertained while reading。 The amount of detail and research that went into this storyline is astounding。 Would there be things I would change? Absolutely。 Does Aurora still fall flat as a character for me? Absolutely。 Am I glad to see more of Zila? Absolutely。 This isn’t my favorite book of the series but it’s at least a strong ending。 I think that the series was so good because of 312 and the teamwork。 Because the So many emotions。 I’m overall pleased with each character’s ending and was very entertained while reading。 The amount of detail and research that went into this storyline is astounding。 Would there be things I would change? I did have to read the first two books in the Aurora Cycle again, to make sure I remembered all the important information, but 'Aurora's End' does offer a quick recap of the characters and plot, which is very helpful。 I wish more series books would do this。 When we left Squad 312 at the end of 'Aurora Burning', they were all in imminent danger of death。 Fin, Scarlet and Zila were in the process of 'Plan B' - ramming the giant galactic weapon to stop it from destroying Terra's sun, Kal and Auri w I did have to read the first two books in the Aurora Cycle again, to make sure I remembered all the important information, but 'Aurora's End' does offer a quick recap of the characters and plot, which is very helpful。 I wish more series books would do this。 When we left Squad 312 at the end of 'Aurora Burning', they were all in imminent danger of death。 Fin, Scarlet and Zila were in the process of 'Plan B' - ramming the giant galactic weapon to stop it from destroying Terra's sun, Kal and Auri were inside the galactic weapon, fighting the terrifying Starslayer, and Tyler was a prisoner of the evil GIA AKA Ra'haam together with Kal's aggressive sister, Saedii。I can't say too much about what happens next, without plot spoilers, but the fate of the galaxy is in the hands of our intrepid heroes and it's a wild, nail-biting, heart-stopping ride。 There have been hints at time travel in the previous books, and time travel does often serve as convenient get-out-of-jail free card for plot holes, but in this case the time travel element is the DNA of the entire plot and all of the clues, the mantlepiece guns, and the cigarillo cases pay off in such a satisfying way I was able to thoroughly suspend disbelief。 The final clash of Auri and the Ra'haam lost me a little bit, but the conclusion of this epic, thrilling series was wonderfully wrapped up, with all of the heartstring tugging and sarcastic quips you would expect from this brilliant author duo。 Absolutely loved it! 。。。more
